Industrial accelerometers are intended for measuring vibrations on bearings.
Several families of sensors exist which provide access either to a raw signal which allows spectral analyzes and vibration diagnostics to be carried out, or an equivalent signal (4-20mA) in order to be sent back to supervision.
Industrial sensor 100mV / g
4-20mA sensor
Atex or Exd sensor
Tri-Axis Sensor
Proximity Probes
Intended for measuring the displacement of a rotor (µm pk-pk), proximity or eddy current probes are used to measure the vibrations of the rotor in its fluid film bearings.
This type of sensor is used to carry out diagnostics specific to the operation of oil film bearings (pad bearings).
4-20 mA vibration sensors
Sensor intended to be integrated more simply into a supervision chain, these sensors deliver a 4-20mA signal proportional to a vibration level.
Accelerometers produce a low voltage (mV) proportional to the overall vibration of the equipment. It is converted to a proportional output current, in the range 4-20 mA (4 mA normally representing the zero level output of the sensor and 20 mA representing the full scale output of the sensor)
4-20mA sensors are also available for ATEX environment.
Some 4-20mA sensors may optionally have a dynamic output.
